Coming from a web developer .... No... it's flash based, generic themes and limited resources...

You're better downloading wordpress, installing one of the free themes. You will need to buy hosting and a domain. (about £30-£60 per year)

I used them years ago because I liked the look of the site design software and it was a technical no-brainer, however the functionality was very basic and moving away from them was a bit painful. Fine if you just want a shop front with no web presence or growth plans.

It's really easy to use WordPress and choose one of 1000's of free (or paid) templates - a much more professional approach.

I know that Moonfruit really didn't help my Google ranking at the time. Come to think of it, their website builder was a bit crappy too... Andy

Hi. I have no direct experience of Moonfruit, but our advice is to consider the level of help you're likely to want with dealing with your website. A smaller hosting company (yes, like us, but we're far from the only ones out there) should be able to respond swiftly to you and as an individual. The pay-off with cut-price hosting is usually cut-price support. If you consider cost instead of price, what's the cost to you if your site goes down or develops hiccups that prevent you running your business or taking orders, and you have to wait a few days to get it sorted? It's one of those things you have to weigh up.

Hope you find a solution that fits the bill, and the budget!
