Hello,

I design molds for years and always made metal and plastic injection molds. Now I got a new work about refractory cement mold. It is a material used for fire bricks. Cement will be filled into mold then with vibration, it will reach everywhere.

I just want to ask that, if anyone has experience with this cement? What material should I prefer for mold? Cement heats up to 80 degree during process and I want my mold to be in good shape and re-use for many.

We do GRP so I’m of no good to you I’m afraid.

I’m guessing you’d need a CNC’d block of PTFE potentially, but I don’t know anything about the stuff other than it gives a very easy, clean release from the mouldtool and lasts for ages.
