We are a mobile therapeutic massage /other holistic services based in Manchester and other cities. Can we offer our services now? Lots of customer emailing asking for bookings and we have introduced strict hygiene policies such as mandatory face masks.

Customers are also told what their obligations are in terms of hygiene in their homes. If people are willing to book and staff want to work, under strict safety precautions, how can the state force us not to? What penalties can they impose on us?

Most of our staff are contractually self employed contractors and are really struggling, as am I. Also the government guidelines on what businesses can and cannot open has many grey areas. For example, osteopaths are allowed to re-open, we offer osteopathy services as well.

I would be very curious to know people's opinion on this.

Hi

I used to own and run a physio clinic in London for many years so know a bit about this subject.

Got to be honest it’s not that you can’t open up again now it’s whether people are confident enough to be in such close proximity ie the very nature of what you do is close physical contact.

Try advertising again and see what response you get.

Good luck

I don't know what the current state of the law is relating to your field, but if the state want you to not provide that service, they simply make it illegal and issue shut down notices and fine you if they catch you. Nothing new in that, they've been doing it to pubs.

However, I'm not sure if what you're offering is actually illegal or not...
