Mobile Phone Recycling - Who to go with?

Hi there, I have some old mobiles I want to recycle/sell so I can get some cash to buy an iPhone 4.

BUT there are loads out there and I'm not sure who to go with :| Any suggestions? Anyone used a mobile phone recycling service before? Tips, help and suggestions would be gratefully appreciated :) Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I have sold 2 phones via mazuma mobile. It was quick and easy, this was over 18mths now though so not sure if they are still any good.

You could always try a few different sites and see if there is a price difference, failing that there is always ebay.

Cheers

i think the best mobile phone recyclers are with the best reviews and rating all this can be done by using some comparison sites like sellmymobileguru.co.uk, sellmymobile, mobile phone recycling.
also when you do find a recycler send it by special delivery so it's insured because by using free post its insured only up £40.

good luck!

I haven't seen the Post Office one but i'm sure that's fine. Otherwise stick to Mazuma or Envirofone, check them for the best price.

I would avoid some of the newer ones which have been springing up, there has been a bit of a surge recently but some of their terms are a bit grey, as if they might try to lower the price after they get it.

ebay!

The companies you see advertising must be offering less than 50% of market value, otherwise there wouldn't be a business model, those multi million ound advertising campeigns need to be paid for as well!

It's a bit like the "cash for gold" fad.

watch out with envirophone, sent about 4 back in one go they gave me a quote of about £40 but then they emailed me to say actually it will only be £15 due to the condition. I assumed it didn't matter what condition they were in, but could hardly say send them back. If I know it would have only been this much I would have put them in a charity / recycling box.

Did you read the Terms & Conditions? They are pretty clear (and you can't complete a trade without clicking to say you have)

Any why couldn't you request to have them back? Envirofone allow 5days for you to accept or reject any offers made and will return all phones free of charge if requested.

nah not really I never read the t&C my own fault I guess, with them sending them back I just thought it would be tomuch hassel gettign them back and finding another company etc

It's not really a hassle seeing as the majority of mobile phone recyclers use freepost.

99% of complaints, and no offence to you owas, are from people who have done exactly the same; not read the Terms & conditions, ignored any communication sent, or accepted an offer and then raised issue with the amount they have been paid.
