Mobile Marketing

Hello,

My name is Shane Mallon, and i am a mobile marketer. I believe that i can provide a number of services for your business. I can do your mobile marketing for a monthly fee, or i could teach mobile marketing to your business.

Mobile Marketing is going to get extremely big inside the next two to three years. There are already 5 billion mobile phone subscriptions, and only 1.8 billion internet subscriptions. There are also 200,000 androids sold every single day. This shows the rapid growth of mobile.

Mobile marketing is great for small bussiness, as you can target specific cities throughout the world. You can run click-to-website, click-to-call, click-to map and many more campaigns. These would be a great way for any business to get brand new clients.

Please reply if you are interested, and i will get back to you as soon as possible.

Best regards,
Shane

You clearly have no idea about mobile marketing.
This is getting leads from people who know nothing about thier business, so therefore, why would they be on thier website?
Think about what you write before you post it.

I was interested in what you were saying as i am Marketing Manager for a large firm> I went on a 1 day seminar to learn about Mobile Marketing.

I totally agree with you but I wouldnt use you because of your attitude. He was asking you to clarify why he should use you.

I would think about your personal marketing skills and try a new post.

I personally wouldn't recommend speaking to an experienced and seasoned user on a forum like that my friend, especially as a newbie yourself (you should be doing your best to get on with everyone, aside from anything else you may well find yourself getting some good advice from them at some point down the line if you do!)

Wow! Can you really do all that? Oh I forgot; we have been doing that for the last 18 months.

If you cannot be civil, may I make a suggestion? Go and annoy people somewhere else.

What would you class as mobile marketing and how does it differ to something like PPC Marketing?

I'm of the view that 'Mobile Marketing' is just the device that the content is delivered on. As you could suggest their is 'Desktop Marketing' 'Laptop Marketing' 'Ipad Marketing'. Its all online marketing in my view?

You are in one way correct.
Its the delivery of the traffic (in this case mobile) that is targeted.
laptops ipad are in effect pc's
With a mobile phone you have to adjust the website to feature better on a mobile phone.
Hence you now have mobile versions of a website.
We created a whole department that deals with this side of the industry called tundu.co.uk (strictly graphic design, websites and branding)
If you have a chance take a look at the online and mobile versions which is tundu.mobi. Its doesn't lose its appeal.

Interesting, though I don't see how mobile markeitng would differ from online marketing. You mentioned having to adjust the website to fit in with the mobile device, surely this design rather than marketing. althoug I suppose you could argue the input of a marketer would be required to aid with layout and call to actions etc.

It is an interesting subject, I just don't feel the need to label it as mobile marketing, I just don't see how Mobile Marketing would have its own 'strategy' like PPC, SEO or Display Advertising?

I know there are more and more ways of advertising on mobile devices through apps etc. Its more device targeting to me?

The best argument i could give for it is if a Mobile Marketing Strategy included usage of SMS & Bluetooth which are specific to the device.

Evening peeps....

Well aside from the lack of charm within the post! Mobile marketing is an interesting one, I posted on another thread a couple of days ago from a poster asking about using Foursquare for marketing purposes - I think the key element in mobile marketing (for me - and there are other angles - but this excites me the most) is the targeting aspects - for example, a user has loaded up 4Sq on their iphone wandering round picadilly circus, wondering which restaurant to choose, the iphone knows where she is and so within 4Sq are restaurant 'tips' sponsored by the restaurant owners - basically, she is in the market for some food, actively looking to eat now AND she happens to be round the corner from the advertiser - perfect form of advertising? It's got to be close - I don't think it's flawless but some of these location based apps are possibly best placed to take advantage? (clearly they have to have the user numbers - 4sq - 3mill, Gowlla 1.2mill(?), flook -100k (uk based)

Love to hear others thoughts on it....

You have picked up on a perfect example of where mobile marketing is going to come into it's own. It can only be a matter of time before Facebook places is available on iphone in the UK and that is going to change everything.

do you happen to know if Time Out have an iphone app that works that way?

if they did I'd definately use it

It pinpoints where you are and shows you what's around, yes.

I'm not sure it executes it very well at the minute - it has poor reviews and it was 'sponsored' by Smirnoff (as in they paid to build it I believe)

I think it could be pretty good, flook and foursquare tips offer similar possibilities.

sorry about the reply Ali-v-8. I thought that you were trying to be sarcastic, and say that mobile marketing is a waste of time. I intend to use this forum for a long time, so i didn't mean to be cheeky.
If anyone has any questions, i would be happy to answer them.
