Microsoft Word Borders

Sorry for posting a bit of a random question, cannot find the solution anywhere though!

Just wondering if anyone could tell me how to remove the white space around the documents when saving as a PDF?

I want to have a green background on the first page, but whenever I save there seems to be a white border around the whole page.

Have you tried adjusting the margins?

Have a look at your printer settings - you may have a 'borderless' print option.

Which version of Word? In 2016 there is a page borders setting under the Design Tab. I can't remember where it was on earlier versions.

As @Alan suggests, you should print to PDF rather than save as PDF.

Try looking in the printer settings, as mentioned before, or drop it into notepad/or similar and try from there.
