I had to buy a new machine at the time of the Vista launch, so I decided to go with Vista.

At first, I thought, "What's the big deal, not really any difference". Then I went back to an XP machine and wow, was it outdated or what?

The good thing about Vista is that it is much more stable IMHO and if there are any crashes, it fixes itself!

I've just purchased a second machine for the office and without reservation, I had Vista installed; works very well indeed with MS Office 2007. We're prone to power failures here and in every case of a power loss, my work has been recovered by Vista when resumed.

Here's some stuff on Microsoft Tinker to look at, but the solutions are here too so don't look too far down the page if you don't want the answers!
