Merchant that accepts maestro

Hey does anyone know an online payment merchant that takes maestro card? Thanks

Check out Sage Pay - used to be Protx but Sage Page took them over. Also check out Card Save - I'm pretty sure both allow Maestro.

Paypal website payments pro still accept Maestro but as of this month it must be with 3-D secure set up.

Im pretty sure all merchats that want to take maestro payements online must now be 3D secure.

I recommend paypal and sagepay. Depending on your site paypal have a lot of easier options to intergrate them into your site.

I will clarify the Maestro situation.

If you are a domestic UK merchant there are two distinct Maestro types.

If the card is issued from a UK/NI acquiring bank the following applies.

1. Transactions Flagged ECOMMERCE - 3D secure is not currently required for domestic UK Maestro transactions. 3D secure is mandetory for any Maestro card issued outside of the UK (Intro EU & International).

2. Transactions Flagged MOTO - You may process domestic issued Maestro with CV2 and without 3D secure. You cannot process any maestro card issued outside of the UK.

If you are a merchant with an acquiring bank outside of the UK the following applies.

1. Transactions Flagged ECOMMERCE - 3D secure is required for all Maestro transactions regardless of where the card was issued.

2. Transactions Flagged MOTO - You cannot process any MOTO Maestro transactions.

The reason the rules are different for UK cards is becase the UK maestro is actaully the old switch/solo processing platform. I would imagine eventually the platform will be switched off and the rules will apply to everyone.

The information you have here is correct. We can offer Maestro as a payment type on your account however, you will be required to set up 3D Secure in order to be able to process Maestro transactions.

3D Secure is a type of fraud screening tool in which the shopper is required to enter a user generated password during the payment process. Its really the only 'vendor protection' avaliable because dependant upon the result,a liability shift would occur should the order be fraudulant etc. So it's really a great tool to be using if you are trading online
