Hello

I am opening a retail side to my business and am looking for the best deal for a card machine within this premises.

Any advice on best rates would be appreciated.
Looking on a conservative estimate of 50-75k through this in my first year.

I bank with HSBC so have those details.

Thanks

Was just looking at RBS World Pay (had a quote) - I didn't like it!

ps - banks...use them, don't let them use you....

they get 3.35%+15p - and to keep MY money for FOUR WEEKS?!??! not too flaming likely!:(

To begin working with merchant services, choose a plan that best meets your needs. This can include retailer services, online services and even mail or phone order services. Good merchant services providers should work with you on a variety of points like Offering low-cost or free credit card processing equipment.

I have alot of traffic through my card machine and I use a company called "handepay". They offered me very good terms, and my banking has always been on time and to the penny accurate. Plus they also support all cards, and I have to date never had any technical problems with it.

After being ripped off for years by my high street bank's merchant services (Barclays) with whom I had been in business with for years, I decided to shop around. I called in Handepay who basically tried to trick me into signing a more expensive and lengthy contract, then Paymentsense who gave me lower rates but lots of additional charges that meant i was saving no money at all.

I eventually found a local business called Card Compliance Services - and they set me up with an account within days, lowest rates I had come across, no hidden costs and really quick reliable terminal (trust me it makes a difference!!) I did it all over the phone so no pushy salesman trying to force me into doing something I did not want to do. I would recommend CCS to anyone, they truly seem to care about making their customer's happy, and they saved me a lot of money that i did not realise i could do!!
