Hi all,

Can someone point me in the direction of a merchant provider. We have called a number of them - Global Payments, Streamline, Cardnet and Barclay Card and they wont deal with our type of business.

The business that we are in is selling training courses that our providers run. We dont run any training.

To give you an example of a company that does something similar is last minute - they sell accomondation that there providers provide and dont own any hotels

Cheers

Could you not just use Paypal as a starter? And then do further trials with others as you go along?

Paypal has its detractors...But it is a fairly simple startup solution.

Also look at things like Paypoint and myriad others.

Hi Michael

Most of the mainstream Merchant account providers are not interested in SME businesses, and can afford to completely ignore what they see as High Risk businesses.

We would be happy to consider your application for a Merchant account, presumably you are looking for an internet based solution rather than a physical terminal ?

You would be classified as a High Risk business but this just means we would ask for more information to support your application.

The only thing to think about is how you present your business to the Merchant Account provider. You cannot process payments on behalf of a third party, so you would need to be able to show that you are buying in the service from the provider(s) and then invoicing your end customers for the courses.

Good news is that we can give you a decision is 3 - 5 days, and get you up and running in 7 - 10 days after that..

Please PM me if you would like to find out more information.

Kind regards

Mark
