Merchant Account?

My boss has tasked me with setting up a Virtual Terminal to allow the company to take card payments over the phone. I understand that we require a Merchant Account to do this but we have been rejected by a number of providers due to a CCJ. I'm waiting to hear back from Nochex and Lateral Payment Solutions; any other suggestions while I wait?

As I know, Your length of time in business matters because your merchant account providers want an assurance that you understand the business environment in which you operate, can identify the potential risks you face, know how to prevent or reduce fraud, and understand how to manage credit card acceptance.

Go to the "search" function.
Type "merchant account" lots of threads already there.

Hi Op

The fact your boss has CCJ's registered against him/her, this will make it almost impossible to get a merchant account (especially if they are not satisfied) as the fact they have CCJ's will in the merchant provider eyes increase the risk.

Also if the merchant provider is carrying our credit checks and based on the information they are being refused, could further effect your boss.

I have looked at Lateral Payment Solutions and they are just the processing part of the transaction, they still need an acquiring bank to issue a merchant ID before they will be able to help you. The acquiring bank will probably carry other another credit check.

If you continue to have issues, I suggest you search in google for high risk credit card processing as they may be a better avenue for you.

Good luck.
