Merchant Account?

I have opened an sagepay account, however I need a merchant account.

Sagepay offer merchant account with RBS, however I was wondering is there any other way to get a merchant account.

I have an patrasys account, would that count as a merchant account?

I need one pretty quick.

Hi,

At Sage Pay we require you to have a Merchant Account to be eligible for a Sage Pay account. Unfortunately we don't work with Patrasys but you can obtain one through any of the major UK banks, however these can take around two weeks to set up.

I'm in the process of opening up a Payment gateway with RBS WorldPay and using another branch of RBS called - Streamline merchant accounts.

I'm waiting for the quote to come back, although I am quite positive it will be one of the best options out there.

The most popular one to use is streamline, mainly because if you sign up with the FSB you get reduced fees.

I can recommend Sagepay & Barclays - we use them and it works very well indeed. But then we bank with Barclays and our office is virtually next door to a branch - if you bank with RBS I'd probably sign up with them instead.

Sagepay remit funds within days (not sure if this varies) unlike Worldpay for example, who (when we had to use them briefly after acquiring another host), kept something silly like £3k in escrow and used 30-day terms. For an established £xx,xxx/year business - mad.
