Me Time

Hi everyone,
Do you have any 'me time'?...
Do you need 'me time'?...
How do you spend it? Do you spend it with anybody? How do you benefit from it?
How would you like to spend it?
Is it more like 'mind spa' or 'body spa', or both?...
What does 'me time' mean for you?...

The amount of stress and pressure put on us now is just unbelievable: being parents, being daughters, sons, wives, husbands, professionals, bosses, employees, being fit, being smart. And when can we really be ourselves and do something for us?....

What do you think about it?

I think I have got to the point where very little about business life really stresses me any more. On the personal side of my life, things have been as stressful as it could have been for the past two years. My mother passed away, my heavily pregnant daughter went in to a 3 week near constant fit and had to be basically be put in to a medically induced coma (we find out in a couple of weeks if any damage was done to the baby by either the drugs or the fitting).

We all go through patches like this, where things just blind side us over and over again. We should use these experiences as a tool to keep our work / personal life in balance.

Anyway back on to me time.

For me "Me Time" is doing anything that switches the work side of my brain off. As most of us know that is not as easy as it sounds. Even when we are out having a family walk or doing the shopping we all get those "if I was in the office, I could be working on...." thoughts. This kills most peoples "me time" for them.

My "me time" is almost 100% spent with my 4 year old grandson. We play video games together, visit cinemas and museums etc. Like me he is 100% geek and he loves technology, computers and video games. About 2 months ago he discovered Minecraft so it has been almost none stop Minecraft since then.

I used to be a huge video gamer until I set my business up, so now I'm living my gaming years through him LOL.
