Hi

Just a question for the other telemarketers on here, Ive been doing this for 18 years.

What do you think is the likely hood of speaking to MD or CEO of a company with a 30 million pound turnover

Just interested in your thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

It certainly is possible but you need to be extremely persistant. If you call at the right time, often before 9am, you can be lucky enough to actually speak to the MD.

It's happened to me, I've also had direct answers from CEO's by simply sending emails.

However the most tried and tested method is to speak to their PA, forward them an email to put on the MD's desk, often you will at least get an answer from a director via the PA.

If all else fails just send an email, back it up with a voicemail explaining who you are and telling them to check their email inbox. It may sound like a longshot but youd be amazed at the results

Just last week I got a call back from the director of a national chain of shops with a turnover of more than 30 million, I'd just left him a voicemail.

If you need anymore advice don't hesitate to ask

I was the head of a company with sales of £85m and would frequently get people calling me. As telemax points out, the best time to get me was to call my direct line before 9.00am or after 5.30pm. I always listened and either declined to take it further; defer it to one of my team or agree to a meeting.

During the day, my PA fielded all my calls and unless it was urgent, I had no time generally to take the call straight away. Again, I would either decline, suggest a colleague or agree to a meeting and then get my PA to deal with it accordingly.

My experience of selling is that the higher up the company greasy pole that your contact is, the more help you get and the more openess. Faint heart and all that......:)

They are only people after all, same as you:)

I hope this helps.
