Seems to quite a hot topic- Should Matt Hancock be in I’m a Celebrity?
Should Matt Hancock be in Parliament? (I don't mean this week, I mean at all)

Personal opinion, no. Being a member of parliament should come with a responsibility and level of integrity which doesn't fit with appearing on reality TV, sadly that seems to be getting lost on some of our MP's.

It takes a certain type of person to be an MP in the first place - however much we criticise them, it not a job that most of us could handle.

If you don't go in with a thick skin you will undoubtedly develop one.

Witness MPs who go to prison and come out as celebrities.

Anyway, my answer is that I'm really not bothered by it

He's gone in to try to redeem himself with the public, a move that could easily backfire.

Either way, it has to be said the reasons for going in are purely selfish which in itself doesn't bode well.

Personally I don't think its a place for current MP's, they should be too busy for popularity shows.

Thinking about it, I'm a Celebrity could actually be a metaphor for being an MP.

'Wanted, Intelligent, committed person to be pelted with rotten eggs and publicly ridiculed.

    Rotten eggs and ridicule non-negotiable'

Leaving aside the doubtless amusing replies if someone came on this forum and moaned…

It’s so unfair. I’ve used up all my holiday entitlement but my employer won’t give me indefinite paid leave to go on an all-expenses-paid junket across the world.

Of course, it might just be a plan to promote his new book with the catchy title ‘Pandemic Diaries.’ Hurry - I believe there are still some copies of the rare unsigned first edition available.

I have to admit due to having daughters, I have watched a few episodes in this shows early days. Even years ago most were meaningless minor celebs willing to undergo humiliation to try and resurrect a fading moment of fame.

Maybe it’s the fact I am older, but these days I have no desire to watch the program, have no idea who 95% of the people in it are, and like all of the other Ant and Dec tripe, the show should have been cancelled years ago.

As for Hancock, who cares? That said, he should have had to resign to go on it.
