Martin Lewis sells MoneySavingExpert.com for £87m

Well the site has great value eg:

Consumer Revenge approach have made it the UK's official no. 1 money site with over 13 million unique users a month.

Was sold to Moneysupermarket.com, and partly the reason might be the domains are similar, eg: MoneySaving/MoneySupermarket - thus fitting in with MS's portfolio......

Don't forget that MSE IS a consumer-driven site, for the consumer, and people like that, it makes great media attention.

Dont forget that MSE made £16m from advertising last year and 59% of that was from Moneysupermarket.
As the total of the £87m is not all cash and spread over a few years,it wont take long for Moneysupermarket to break even.

Its still a shocking amount of money :)

If anyones interested my business is for sale for a knock down price of £5m

Good for him. I doubt that he started that business with selling in mind but it's a great business which stuck to it's ethos and gained a huge following because of that. He remains editor-in-chief and I think he will continue to have a huge input because he is the sort of person who seems committed to the ethos of the company that he started. We need to celebrate such business success. Someone like this who starts a small business and builds it up deserves such success much more than someone who simply has the plays office politics in a Bank for 20 years and manages to climb the greasy pole!

I do indeed. Its an old split screen VW camper (She's called rhubarb) that I restored a couple of years back. It is also very reliable (and fast) as it has a 2ltr turbo charged Subaru engine stuffed in the back.

Would love to just sell up and bugger off around the World (one day - maybe)
