Hi,

I run a small recruitment company with a couple of friends. We supply perm support and admin staff.

I know little about marketting, and the biggest problem has been to generate new business.

I was considering using a marketting company to help generate client leads;
I was wondering if anyone could give advice about this, would they be able to help? My target market is specifically HR personel... maybe recommend a company?

Thanks in advance

Harry,

Hope all is well.

You've got a lot of opportunities out there (esp in your LOB). Online alone, Social Media Mktg is definitely something you want to look into. Other options of course: Email Mktg, Direct Mail and/or Telemarketing.

At the same time, with so many companies out there offering the said services, kind hard to sort out which one's giving you value for your money. So best to compare portfolios, offers, quotes, etc. first before anything else. 3-4 quotes may be well enough to give you an idea of what's out there/what the current rate & range is.

All the best & hope you find the right supplier & the best offers!

Marketing is a very broad area - covering everything from brand awareness (think of those Cadbury ads on TV where the only indication of what they are for was the logo at the end) though to pure lead generation, where you get passed warm leads.

You also have different media: online, print, telephone, exhibitions, TV, radio, etc etc.

You need to decide a bit more the budget you have, and what media you want to work with and take it on from there. Saying that, recruitment is totally saturated. I'm not in charge of recruitment, and never have been, but I get 5+ emails per week , 2 or 3 linked in requests and several phone calls all from agencies chasing business. It is possible to market in any industry, but be aware it is likely to be expensive to make an impact.

How could social media marketing help me? I never had much joy with linkedin to be honest.

I think a mass email campaign and maybe listings in some kinds of publications that empoyers see might help... I really dont know and should probably find a competent advisor

Hi Harry. In your LOB, LinkedIn may be a good place but/at the same time, it doesn't end there. Even Inc 500 companies are using other platforms i.e. Twitter, Facebook, etc. (couple of articles online pointing out how companies like Pepsi, etc. use Twitter, etc).

Also, gotta look out for "mass email campaign". Look out for opt-in's, etc. Another thing is, the option to either use a software/web-based app to do email mktg and/or outsource the whole campaign to a verified UK email mktg company. <removed self promo content>
Cheers,

Francis
