Marketing through facebook?

Not sure if anybody has ever tryed this but i thought i would ask the question if you have a product related to some sort of individual,celebrity,tv show movie you can see quite alot of fan groups on facebook for example justin bieber there are lots of different groups on facebook each with a minimum of 10,000 likes one reaching over 1 million so if i wanted to market certain products to one of those groups i guess i am trying to ask how would you go about it without coming across too cheeky.Is there a way of just contacting the creator of the group or do you just post on the groups main wall.Would you go for the bigger groups which are probably official website groups or would you tend to go for the smaller groups probably started by one fan

I have noticed when i have started a group it comes up with admin and my name under it but on the other groups i cannot seem to find this option

As you have said you are the group/fan page creator then you are admin. If someone else creates it then you can only become an admin by them giving you admin status. That said you can join a group and post on the group wall.

I would suggest emailing the admins and offering some kind of preferential rate to their group members. Anything that they'd feel like it'd increase the value of being in their group I guess.

You might get away with posting on the group wall but you might struggle to reach many people and also might get labelled a spammer. Once a group form an opinion of you (however misguided) I think you'd find it very hard to shake off!
