In desperate need of some advice the small firm I work for has gone bust and my boss has disappeared leaving 2 months unpaid wages in its place he left me an envelope with the data files the company used for its tele sales it has all the data in for the northeast thousands of names phone numbers and addresses its all on an sd card that can be sent to anyone or transferred over to other sd cards I know he paid a lot of money for the information on there and need to know if it is legal for me to sell on to other people and how I would do this so I can make the wages I am owed or if I can get into trouble for this.
Any help would be wonderful
Thank you

Read that page - I don't see anything that's actually relevant to their query.

A failed company goes out of business. It's assets can be sold by liquidators, if some actually are called in. What if there are no liquidators, or the assets are not sold on. It's like the office furniture, someone has to 'dispose' of it, and can be paid for their efforts, right?

The OP said they hadn't been paid when a company you work for goes bust. I gave them a link to their rights when a company you work for is insolvent. In what way is that not relevant?

His question was, "need to know if it is legal for me to sell on to other people and how I would do this so I can make the wages I am owed or if I can get into trouble for this."

He wants to take company property, personal data / contact information and sell it on, and wants to know if it's legal and how to go about it. That's the question at hand.
