Marketing in Norway for an Agency

I have some important tasks to carry out and I would like to have some feedback from where I can find the right person/organisation to carry out the below:

To put you into the picture I have a translation agency and before promoting it globally we have decided to choose one country and heavily promote our agency in this country. The choice fell on the country of Norway. The website is ready, and we have cover letters in 30 languages including obviously Norwegian (and other such as Swedish, Finnish, Danish).

The chosen freelancer must have outstanding knowledge in Marketing in Norway (or Scandinavian Countries). Must have a huge email list of Business clients to send to. Create an E-mail Template (obviously through your previous experience) and then Come forward with an Internet and E-mail Campaign. We must be provided with tools to see how everything is going. At the end of the all, we should get our end product which is Clients.

List the Agency in ALL Scandinavian Countries DIRECTORIES.
Social Networking Marketing - (we have our pages in Facebook, Twitter and Linked IN) with quite a large number of followers.

Ideas or consultation to better our services / end product for prospective clients.

Where to Advertise in Norway. SEO or other forms of optimization.

Should we end up with approximately 50 clients a bonus is given to chosen freelancer/company/organisation.

You seem quite specific regarding the person or agency you are looking for, but then list the most basic of services you are looking for. There are much better ways to promote your services into a new area than using e-mail lists and other basic promotional techniques.

My advice would be to make sure you have got your marketing sorted on a strategic level, before you waste your time and money promoting it.

Hello Friends,

Norway is Nordic country officially known as the Kingdom of Norway and covers an area of 148,747 square miles. Located in Northern Europe it is the second least populated country in Europe with a population of 4.9 million and a GDP per capita of $52,238. Norwegians have the second highest GDP per capita in the world and occupy the second wealthiest country in the world in terms of monetary value with a larger capital reserve per capita than any other country in the world. The internet in Norway has one of the highest penetration rates in the world with more than 90% of households having an internet connection and more than 34.2% broadband connections. This is amongst the highest number of broadband connections in terms of penetration in the world and higher than the UK and the US.

Thanks And Regards,
Edward Leigh

Sounds like you need to engage a Norwegian based agency or freelance who can both advise you on the best strategy to reach your market and then help you implement it. ( assuming you have already done your research to ensure there is a market for your service and you can offer competitively against local established translation services).

Thank you all for your professional Advice.

I have still got mixed thoughts of which Marketing strategy to implement here.

In a nutshell, uptill now it will be SEO, E-mail Marketing, Norwegian website, Norwegian Cover letter, and social media marketing.

Do not know what to add to that.

All of those things are just basic promotional techniques. You need to plan a marketing strategy before you even start to think about your promotional activity.

I wouldn't concentrate your efforts or budget on any of the things on your list. You need to focus your attention on providing a better proposition than the natives of the country already offering the same services.

If you have done your market research you will know which are the best entry markets for your translation service, what your competitors are offering and how much for.

Use this information and research you have done on your customers to look at how you differeniate your service and ensure you provide a value for money service.

You can then put a marketing strategy and budget together for your top entry market targets which will help you identify the most suitable marketing/PR tactics to use to promote your business.

I would be suprised if Norway would be a good market; small population, high level of business language skills....but it seems your research has shown you otherwise.
