Marketing Ideas

We host zorbing style events, and they have never been a failure in terms of customer experience.

The only issue and quite obviously the biggest one has been sales. We have utilised on the ground marketing such as promoting in busy areas and advertising through various social media platforms.

The issues we are having is that the minimum number of people required to secure a book is often the sticking point for most interested parties, a number of 8.

We are a new company with no business acumen, so would appreciate any guidance or advice on how to increase sales, improve marketing strategy and the sort.

First find out who your 'top 10' customer list would be, from this then determine the sort of business size and decision maker who would be best to approach. Once you've done this either call them on the phone or set up an e-mail marketing campaign. Best platforms are mail programs such as Mailchimp for e-mail marketing. Lezlie's point about word of mouth and refer a friend are also good. Always think about the smallest effort you can make to produce the largest results, this often starts with the most appropriate point of contact.

I think you're assuming the OP is targeting businesses and that they have a mailing list that they can use. I'm not sure either is the case.

OP as Adam says you need to identify who your customers are and how best to reach them....I assume you will already have this information from when you did your market research to identify there was a demand for the service you are offering.

What do you know about the sort of consumers who are interested in 'zorbing'? have you broken down your audiences ie stag do's, families, teenage parties. What about for corporate events? Once you have your audiences? What information have your researched about the best channels to use to reach these audiences.

Does your website and branding clearly articulate what you offer and why people should choose your company.

You mention advertising but the activities you mention sound like you are using mainly free channels. What have you done in the way of paid for online advertising and advertising through social media? What have you done in the way of looking at third party marketing?

It sounds like you need to revisit your marketing plan as the channels you have chosen don't seem to be working that well for you If you don't have a marketing plan and budget in place - that should be your starting point.

I was looking for one in the Nottingham area 2 years ago, however those people who organise it acted like proper assholes on the telephone while we tried to book it (sounds like they got too many clients). We've found them on the internet. I would suggest you create a site (if you did not yet) and start off by targeting your local region.
