Dear all,

Quite recently my firm trialled the roll out of a number of specialist training workshops regionally. After a dozen or so successful events and some fantatsic feedback from attendees we have decided to roll this out nationally.

I'm looking for some advice and guidance specifically on marketing b2b events/training services.

If anyone has any ideas, tips or suggestions on how to market events then it would be hugely appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

    Hi

    Might be easier for people to help, if we had a little more information;

    What sort of training?
What sort of companies/staff are you targetting?
What sort of PR/marketing activities did you carry out during your successful trial?
What sort of resources do you already have in PR/marketing terms from your mainstream activities that you could use I E website, enewsletter, database of contacts, marketing/PR resource?

without further information its difficult to comment...

some ideas though might be to offer free taster courses (just half days) to businesses - that way they get to see how well they are and book onto the full workshop.

Another would be to see about becoming or collaborating with an accredited organisation - that way businesses may be entitled to training grants for your courses/workshops.

Get involved with your local areas business events - providing a free workshop if there are any "business weeks".

Other than that - its going to depend a lot on what you're offering!
    thanks

Have you thought about the search engines? There are thousands of people using the internet each day looking for business and management training courses. Setting up Pay Per Click campaigns and optimising your site could be ideal, especially if you are going national.

    Hi,

I would recommend email marketing. Not only can it generate and maintain interest from your already established customer list, it is extremely viral so people that have enjoyed your services in the past, will share their experiences with others. By adding a subscription form to your website offering a free guide or a subscription to a newsletter will generate new subscribers increasing your customer database which will in turn increase your revenue through sales of training courses.

If you need any more info on email marketing, feel free to contact me or check out our website.

    Hi

What did you do to market the workshops regionally? Often doing more of what already works is the quick way to obtain growth before you spend time, energy and money on something new.

Without more information it is difficult to give suggestions.

    Have a GREAT Day!

you will need the following to take the workshops to a national audience:

    • a great direct mail list
    • strong message with a good offer that can be mailed and emailed out
    • links to a website where you can take bookings online
    • PR in appropriate locally and trade press of the sectors you are targeting
    • testimonials from your last attendees
But it seems that if you have already had success just repeat this forumula on a larger national scale and build the momentum with some good PR.
