Marketing Ideas for Recording Studio

V

vividbusiness

I am currently on Assignment with a recording studio, who have asked me to boost their sales and improve their business ... I have applied the normal marketing tools to the business when I started and in my first month got their turnover up more than the whole of last year.

I am repeating the marketing techniques etc and are doing a number of methods as expected of a good marketing strategy, however we are now slumping and I need to keep up the marketing drive has anyone have any ideas?

I looked on most music forums re recording studio marketing and they very much suggest the marketing strategy I am already doing and or would do in any normal business environment.

Has any one marketed a recording studio themselves? what techniques did you try?

I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance!

    Hi Sean

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'normal marketing techniques', as the techniques you would use would depend on the marketing strategy you have developed, the audience you are targeting and the clients budget.

If you have managed to increase their turnover so that they have earned as much in a month as they have done in a year, I would suggest you do more of the same.

Go back to your marketing strategy, evaluate which techniques and activities were most effective, invest in doing more of these and identify further activities you could undertake which would engage the target audiences who would be interested in using the studio.

One near us was doing the 'star for a day' thing, limo pick-up and go to the studio to record a track with friends. Quite popular with youngsters.

How about your own x-factor competition for local talent, need a decent prize but could be a cost effective lead gen tool.

If you are experiencing a slump after a successful period you need to take a look at pricing, offers and maybe refresh the materials you use. Firstly, track the results you got over the past few months and identify the most successful areas. Ditch any underperforming activity and put more money and effort into the channels that work.

You could try boosting your efforts with:

Offering first two hours recording free
    Run a competition
Use PR to gain some exposure in target publications - is there anyone well known using the studio that might pose for a photo or give you a testimonial?

    Good luck.
