Mapping data software

So let me try and explain this, How do I go about finding a software that will do this for me? Saving hundreds/thousands of hours....

I need a map preferably or a spreadsheet with three categories:

I need to search 350+ locations. Within these 350+ locations there will be 17,500+ locations.

Once these 17,500+ locations have been identified I need them to be labelled- Yes/No/due in a spreadsheet or green/red/amber on a physical map.

How is this possible? I could be picky and do a smaller collection of data of say 50 locations with 2500 sub locations to start.

Any helpful suggestion will be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

I presume the locations all have post codes?

I'd approach it by having the spreadsheet as the master and update the status there and use Google Maps API to plot the locations and status colours onto a map.

Some areas will be postcoded some won't always have a postcode available, just a road name. Mostly the latter.

So I would need to manually find the roads of subject by researching I.e emailing and phone calls, input that data to a spreadsheet then manually highlight/colour code roads on google maps api?
That's a good system but very time consuming.

Thank you.

How big are the 350 locations?

This sounds very much like voting and polling software!

Explain? Yes we are talking cities and large towns. I could make my samples smaller by narrowing my Criteria down to 50 large areas of interest then within those 50 areas have a mile radius.
Thank you.

Any more suggestions people?

How else are you going to programmatically plot something on a map unless you have the postcode, co-ordinates or something similar?

In my suggest, you should update the status on the spreadsheet and then call the API for all the locations, which would plot them on the map for you.

What is the reason you want to see the data on a map rather than just on a spreadsheet?

I guess once I get the street names I will have to find out the co-ordinates to plot them on a map?

Could you explain how using a spreadsheet then calling an API to plot a map might work? Sorry I am not IT orientated. If this is feasible and not available on the market then I will outsource the work to someone as I don't have the skills.

I would preferably like the data put onto a physical map so I can just quickly type in a street and see exactly where it is.

You need UPRN (Unique Property Reference Number) services from GeoPlace -

The National Gazetteer list every property, land parcel and even most items of street furniture in the UK. A single number will locate on a map any place of interest.

Thank you, this look pretty complex, I've only looked at Nimbus mapping before. However I'm not sure this will provide me with what information I'm after although it will be through local authorities.
