Managing a cash book: Excel or other Software

Hi, I was just hoping to get some opinion on whether excel is best for managing a cash book or is there a benefit to using Cash book software (free or with a cost)?

The advantage of using software is that is set up for you already. Setting up a spreadsheet takes time and is prone to errors.

I agree with Scalloway. I have been using VT cashbook for a while now and it's straightforward, and does what I need. Highly recommended.
