Hello all,

I am looking to purchase a used digital print press (maybe potentially from ebay), but wanted to know if it is possible to get it covered by a xerox maintenence contract?

Is it possible to purchase myself and get a maintenance contract? Or would I need to purchase from an authorised dealer?

Yes.

We bought one years ago, but not through ebay, a sales rep who sold them, knew of a machine that was being upgraded, and we bought that.


Then got rinsed for a FTR? Xerox came out and serviced the machine and bought it to an acceptable standard before it could go back under contract, of course all chargeable.

The machine we got to replace that was a similar situation, but as it was under contract, we didn't need the FTR, but as we added extras we had to wait for them to source those.

I believe Xerox now don't allow you to take on a machine, then add bits like finisher off others to it.

They also seem to be getting stricter on the environment they're installed in, there are rules about distance behind the machine etc, mainly to protect their engineers.

Speak to whoever you're thinking of getting under contract with.
