Making a prototype

Hello,

Where do I begin with getting a prototype made for my product ? This would be self funded at my very early stage, the prototype would just be my first step in seeing if my product, as wonderful as it sounds in my head would be viable.

Any signposting in the right direction would be great, thanks in advance.

It would be a silicone type material i'd be looking to get made for my product. The product would be classed as kitchenware...

Ah ok, I thought I’d ask as we do prototyping for various things, but they’re fibreglass mouldings.
