Make something from £2000

There are not many businesses you could set up for that assuming you have no skills or experience to sell but a couple of businesses that you could start on that sort of budget are:

Leaflet Distribution

Window Cleaning (again assuming that you have some sort of vehicle.)

Failing that £2,000 would be a nice amount to start buying wholesale stock etc for resale by various means, ebay, amazon, car boots, facebook, online shop.

Or you could use the money to retrain in something you are interested in with the view to setting up a business.

It depends what skills or interests you have really. You'll get very different responses from different people but all of them will be worthless without knowing more about you and what you could offer consumers or businesses.

I know people (and I am sure many others do too if they think for a bit) who do things that most people would never think of doing and make a pretty penny doing it, that could be kick-started with very little capital.

For example, I know someone who creates bespoke products made from lego bricks and makes a nice little side income from what is basically his hobby with his son. I was taken aback when he told me as I would never have thought about that or even considered there was a market of people who want that kind of stuff. Talking about detailed buildings, kids play stuff (like garden tables/chairs) and stuff like that.

I also know someone who builds miniature traction engines, that's their hobby, they sell them at events. Although that kind of thing probably can't be done with 2k (might be able too, I don't know), it illustrates my point I think.

If I had 2k to spend doing something, I would try to make money from a hobby (a lifestyle business type thing) rather than to start a traditional business because I think with 2k you'd struggle or just outright fail.

Find a few start ups in need of capital investment, and help them out in return for a small percentage. When I started, all I had was the small change in my pocket, £500, £1,000, £2,000 would have helped me no end. To be honest, the way things are, that sort of money would still find a home. ;-)

I love this site, we have "give it to me" and "gamble it" twice! :D

I would advise not gambling it on stuff you don't understand. Unless you understand stock markets and the likes, then by all means.

Absolutely!

Especially with margin accounts on commodities you can end up loseing a hell of a lot more than you originally invested!

There is money to be made as long as you do your research correctly
