MAKE MONEY ON YOUTUBE

Hi @Vincent Dang

Going into the YouTube thing trying to make money is the wrong approach.

You need to create something of value and build an audience first. Then you can direct them to your site and sell them stuff.

Making money form YouTube ads and brand sponsorship is a by-product of that.

If you create videos that engage or educate then you are on the right lines.

Good luck.

I run a very small channel that I'm slowly building in my spare time. Its more of a personal hobby than a money making venture. Have already seen some of the possibilities with making money on youtube and honestly its pretty easy. Just need to create content that people want to watch.

Currently i've been getting $2-3 per 1k views and whilst I'm only getting 4-5k view per month at the moment theres plenty of room to grow. Whats better is that its passive income mostly. Once a video is on my channel its there bringing in ad revenue for the forseeable future.

Put a lot of effort in - try to have a USP - and keep your fingers crossed

You may like many waste/lose/invest - many hours of time and get nowhere

Or you may - just may - strike lucky

But be assured you will need to put a lot of effort in and it might all be for nowt

PS making up twaddle about UFO's seems to be a winner

With the many new rules set up by YouTube, many content creators are feeling that it might not be a viable way of making money. There are channels now that have Patreon since ad revenue has been down for many channels lately.
yep, and especially with moments like this week with pewdiepie using racial slurs it certainly does hurt ad revenue.

Advertisers will come back to the platform though once things cool down, they'd be stupid not to, its got one of the largest audiences on the internet and the second most popular search engine

Does anyone experience it. Please share experience and tips.
Perhaps I'll just take this opportunity to post links to some of my favourite YouTube channels - I believe they're all making good money, a couple of them use Patreon for donations:

Explaining Computers (computers, tech, Raspberry Pis)
    Computerphile (computer science)
    Robert Miles (artificial intelligence)
Fully Charged (electric vehicles, renewable energy, presented by Kryten from Red Dwarf)

Robert Miles and Fully Charged use Patreon.
