Mail question?

Hi,

Help please,

What's the difference between Neomail, horde and squirrel mail and what are they used for? And if I need to use one, which is the best?

Thank You

All three are fairly common webmail applications that come installed as default (I think) with cPanel - which is the control panel software used by a large number of web hosting companies.

They all do the same stuff, but my personal order of preference from a user interface point of view is Horde, Squirrel, Neo.

Hi,

Horde, Squirrel Mail and Neo Mail as already outlined are web mail clients allowing you to have a web-based interface to access your POP3 e-mail accounts and allowing you to send e-mail through your default mail providers SMTP server.

Our clients have always used Squirrel Mail due to its clean interface and reliability, others do also use Horde as well as they prefer the interface, I personally would choose Squirrel Mail though.

Most Plesk based hosting providers provide both Horde and Squirrel Mail as a web-mail interface for client e-mail accounts :) so if you’re still looking and want something external rather than local on your own network then get in touch, ill be glad to help you out.
