I still have one hotmail account for junk stuff i,e, UKBF , but mainly use gmail. My previous hotmail accounts used to get compromised a lot too hence my move to gmail, where I've never had this problem [yet]. Gmail is easier to use and I like the pretty seamless integration with, youtube etc.
Still using Yahoo! for local stuff - community etc - but wouldn't use a generic email address unless I needed to
Best if you have a domain to use, for business of course, then set up emails from there ... can't stand when I have a company to email and they use a generic / everybody has one email account
