Magento help needed

Hi guys,

Im in middle of building a new magento based site, and i need to hide the catagory bar along the top.

Any ideas how i can do this?

I have a vertical menu, and have to many catagorys, so its looking stupid along top as its using 3 lines or writting

Hi Dan,

If you go to Catalog > Manage Categories > Select the appropriate category and where it asks 'Is Active' change to NO - this should hide the category for you.

Just re-read your post - are you wanting to hide the full bar not just single categories??

If so you'll need to edit the template file directly and delete the approriate code.

Managed to edit code quite simply, and its gone

You need to learn how to template magento up, this stuff is pretty basic

Have a read through all of the wiki's / screencasts etc, plenty of info there on how to manipulate the templates.

Assuming you understand how systems work, it should make sense.
