Ltd co. Prob

Hi
Im now in a position where i need advise please. Can someone
tell me how you un register and how much it cost?
Ive not been able to work for a while dueto poor health but now on road to recovery, had no income etc relied on family ( long story) and am sole trader and was advised to go ltd to protect name..but since found out much of what i was told isnt correct. I need to no longer be ltd..for a couple of reasons but i saw a thread from 2013 re a similar set of circumstances but cant find it again...
Ive tried contacting the accountant i have had for a while but they have not got back to me ..so im in limbo...i listened to wrong ppl n it has cost me dearly, so i hope you can advise

If the limited company has never traded then you can apply to Companies House to have it dissolved.

Thanks Scalloway, but tbe ltd company has traded...its just for a year or so ive not been able to work..
In the post from around 2013 with similar circumstances, one reply said you could just leave it n companies house will dissolve it eventually, and you can use the same bsiness name just without ltd...as its a different legal entiy...

Has the company traded since the end of the financial year for the last set of accounts were filed?
