Hello I'm looking to start selling products on eBay, can anyone give me a few ideas where to start? E.g should I start with china suppliers? I'm looking to make £200 to £300 to start with. Thank you.

sure China suppliers can be good, although many sell on ebay themselves. So maybe you could aim to beat them by offering next day delivery etc, of course this would mean you would have to hold stock, rather than dropship. Also be sure that you find out EXACTLY how much it will cost you to post things as postage can be pretty expensive now and pricing in proportion means that weight is no longer the only factor.

Also remember to work out how much ebay are going to charge you 1st to list, then as a final value fee and remember that paypal takes a cut too. You must take all these things into consideration if you are to make profit.

best of luck :)

There is a web site where you can ask for (get bids on) or shop for products from china. Its called Alibaba or something (I am sure google will find it). But, A few words of caution....

1) Everybody has tried this. Finding something you can sell on ebay is difficult as the people who have a good setup order 1'000s of the items, so can undercut you with their discounts. Make sure you are not stuck with a load of 'stuff' you cant sell
2) As said, work out your prices. Once ebay has its listing, plus its % of the sale fee, plus its paypal transaction fee etc etc, it will be hard to make a profit
3) Be warned that the HMRC are wise about ebay being used to create 'black economy' businesses, and have new sniffer software which finds people selling lots of items - it then gets you details from eBay, and you could find a nasty tax bill that you were not expecting.

Get the maths right before you get too far involved.

Another point worth mentioning is that not everything sells on price. Its very easy to get into price wars and end up cutting your own throat, dont do it!

Sell at YOUR price, just try to make things as nice and easy for the buyer such as good delivery service etc.

and as mentioned, dont neglect the tax man, as far as i'm aware theres no longer a grace period for telling them you are trading now so you could be hit with a fine as well as a bill!

Go into ebay search "job lots" then refine the search with buy it now and P+P Price lowest first. Look through and buy a few items then split them down and sell off as single units.

Within a few weeks you will easily make £2-300 I have a number of times using this formula.

Hopefully this will help

Oh dear, it's back. Although I suspect it never really went away.

Someone, somewhere has a calendar with dates marked on them to reflect the days when their dozens of accounts become unbanned. This is getting a little bit like an episode of 'Cracker'.

Well perhaps unlike you he couldn't remember the date his ban ended so he needed the calender ;)

Nothing wrong with that, I have a terrible memory.
