Looking for the best Backlink calculator

I know, I know this probably doesnt exist anymore, but thought I'd ask about, just in case I'm not upto speed on this sort of thing.

The last great link checker was Marketleap, but that died, so I guess what I need is a very accurate tool that shows current links to me and link growth.

First off, hi eventdomain, this is my first post here :)

I use various tools for backlink monitoring on a daily basis. Two of which have already been mentioned, majesticseo and Opensite explorer.

MajesticSEO is tops in terms of historical data, last time I checked it had literally years worth of backlink data, and if you check the 'fresh' option it gives you any new links detected in the last 30 days.

Another one I use is pretty expensive and may be OTT for what you're asking, but its superb for analysing competitors to see where they're getting there juicy links from, its called 'Advanced Link Manager' by a company called Caphyon.

I use SEO Spyglass from the company called Link-Assistant.

That's a great backlink calculator/checker. I find the price reasonable and I like the results it delivers.

I tried Majestic SEO mentioned here, but found it way too expensive + you have to look through entire list delivered to check if links are still in place. Sometimes it would list very old data, and that's annoying.

It's different with SEO Spyglass - the tool shows only backlinks that are still in place. You can also rebuild your projects to get freshest results. Highly recommended.

I agree with much of this, Majestic delivers a lot of information, but it doesn't give you many ways to slice and dice the data. Though they do have fresh index that removes the issue of deleted back links.

I love the features in SEO spyglass, BUT the numbers of links it finds is a tiny fraction of what is out there, especially since Yahoo took down its site explorer. I would be interested in hearing how you use SEO spyglass. I am considering upgrading to the paid version.
