Hello I hope you all are well, I am looking to get some advice / help in regards to becoming a digital marketer full time with the aim long term to start my own digital marketing business. It would be great to get some help in regards to finding the best place to learn whether that's online via a academy or if it means I need to commute to another city and learn in person that's also okay with me, there are a lot of academy's online but it would be nice to get some recommendations or feedback from those who have used some of these academys to help me decide what is the best route to take.

Im open to all suggestions any advice would be gratefully recieved :)

    Kind Regards
    -Jack from Peterborough

I'd say learning online is more convenient and offers more flexibility. It also helps to do it online because as a digital marketer you will most likely be handling clients and projects online without physical meetings.

    I'd recommend doing the :

Google Digital Marketing & E-commerce Professional Certificate

It covers most of what is needed to become a digital marketer.

Jack, do you have your own website, there's nothing like trying to rank your own site as a sandbox project. You quickly learn what works and what doesn't.

I can't comment about courses etc, I taught myself by doing and getting results....then got a low-level job and learned on the job. So much about marketing is working with people and understanding your customer...more than just doing the actual marketing.

    good resources are:
    Moz.com *blog
    Search Engine land.

As someone who runs a marketing agency,

    Get real-world experience.

It's not guaranteed you'll learn everything so read, listen to podcasts and take online courses too.

    Network with marketers.

Ask local businesses if they need marketing help. Most will say no, but 1 in 100 will say yes.

You'll need to work with a lot of people and businesses before you start out.

When you feel you're almost there, slowly build your business on the side lines.

I wouldn't drop your full-time job, but perhaps you can work part-time and start building your side hustle.

You'll soon find what works and doesn't work for you.
