Im looking for a shipper / courier service with >£1k insurance offered

I currently use UPS small business allot, which is a great service and they offer £1k insurance for an extra £5. But sometimes i need to cover up to £3k per package and ive yet to find a shipper / courier who will offer this at a decent rate.

DPD do offer up to £5k, but the cost is £500 which is untenable.

Perhaps cover via a 3rd party insurance company might be worth considering.

As @MyOfficeInChina says, it may be worth looking at an annual transit insurance policy - this will cover all your shipments for the next 12 months.

Depending what you are sending, to where and the number of annual shipments, you may be able to cover everything for £500 per year - get in touch if you would like a quote (my contact details below).

An advantage of arranging your own insurance, is the control of the claim - by using the shippers insurance you will have to go through them if you need to claim. You are at their mercy in terms of speed of the process and payment! Having your own policy will mean you are in control and things can get sorted much quicker!

We are able to do this we would be cheaper than DPD for your average run but it would still be in the hundreds of pounds in most cases .

The annual transit insurance policy might indicate that your consignment is covered but you may not be successful if your claiming for freight that has been with some of the parcel carriers

I have goods in transit cover on my business policy, includes tracked parcel services. Minimal cost.

Good in transit cover is definitely the way forward. We recommend it to all of our customers as most couriers do everything within their power not to pay out, and when they do it's usually a good few months down the line.

We have our own parcel insurance which costs 2% of the value. If you are stuck, drop me a message, you do not have to ship with us to get the insurance.
