Hi all,

Just wanted to make my own Engineering and welding website and was wondering if anyone knew of any free website templates with that theme.

Thanks in advance :D

Not that I've ever come across, and I used to run a company in that field when I first joined this forum.

But your question is a strange one, it will be the *content* of your website that will get you sales enquiries, not what it looks like. "Stuff we have done" images will help with that, as will a clean crisp presentation of the information your visitors will be looking for, that will get them to phone you rather than your competitors.

You could do worse than set up a Wordpress site, choose a suitable theme and go from there.

Having a couple of engineering sites myself I would suggest you purchase a domain name relevant to your product and build the site from the ground up.

Thanks earl, Its just that i have 2 websites already and i'm looking at getting a specialised welding one set up, this will also include some other specialised engineering products which very few people do ;)

Sirearl is correct, the domain name and a simple design is far better than finding some crap free template.

I just build a cafe website last week (it took 7hrs to draw the footer pic!!)

The domain name is not the name of their company, but is great as it is the sort of keywords people search for in search engines. So if you have clients looking for specific specialist tools/service, try and buy that domain name instead.

Thats why B&Q use diy.com instead of their business name, as they want higher rankings for what people search for. If you use your own name in the URL, then it is kind of pointless, as it is assumed that people will search for

Nice and simple, clean and you just add a nice pic and a bit of good quality copy and your away.

Less is more on a tight budget.

PS
The hosting company you're advertising in your signature Merchant UK, it says 300GB of space £4.99... thats not possible, thats a dedicated server, the electricity costs per month will be more than that.
