Rob do you mean you're copywriters have a degree in copywriting ?

If not having a degree isn't particularly relevant. It's having training and exoerience as a journalist or copywriter in the type of content the OP wants which is important and what I look for when commissioning work.

That's great had a quick look at your site but couldn't find any info regarding experiences of your staff in terms of being copywriters, journalists, or ad copy.

    Can you provide links?

So far I seem to be the only one who has recommended a copy writer as everyone else is busily promoting themselves. Surely there must be some other impartial recommendations?

Unfortunately, I can't recommend anyone as I don't know what sort of articles the OP wants written and therefore what sorts of background the writer might need.

For example, does he need a technical medical writer or someone who can writer travel blog posts about the Far Easr?

His user name is "storage" and according to his profile his company name is Storage Auctions UK which probably gives a clue :D

I'm afraid so! It means "Having or requiring an academic review" (source: www[dot]thefreedictionary[dot]com[forward-slash]degreed). I admit it's not a common term.

To address this further, having a degree is not a pre-requisite for my team; we are more concerned with writing experience. It just so happens that my copywriters hold degrees in both Journalism and English Literature / Language.

As an aside, I have also found that writers with degrees (or any qualification higher than GCSE) exhibit a stronger work ethic. This is not a sweeping generalisation, this is my opinion based on my personal experience as an employer.

That's interesting before running this business with my husband who has the Masters in Marketing, I was a medical doctor (MBBS) and training to be a gynaecologist - I can honestly say that I never worked as hard as I do now. Letter chasing does not equal raw hard work.

I agree with you 100%, I have friends who have hugely successful businesses but zero formal academic qualifications. I was simply stating my experience so far.

Just look at the world's most successful entrepreneurs and you'll see many of them were so-called 'school dropouts'. If that doesn't speak to the power of raw hard work, I don't know what does.

Any professional writer is likely to have a qualification higher than GSCE's - either an NCTJ if they are a journalist, a copywriting qualification or a qualification as a technical author, for example, - if they don't they're not a professional writer.

Definitely - many of our clients are tradesmen or entrepreneurs with real business and products - I must say - 'dropping out' of the academic pursuits has been a real wake up and I have used my mind for the first time in years - rather than just following 'guidelines' - sad to say.

A "professional writer" is someone who is paid to write, the qualifications are irrelevant
