Hi all im looking to transfer one of my sites to a new host, as the host we are currently on cannot keep up with the demand of traffic that we've been gaining over the past few months.

We need a dedicated host with a very high monthly bandwidth maybe a 3 - 4 terrabytes and space of around 900gb

can anyone recommend a professional host that would meet these demands?

Thanks

Take a look at bytemark http://www.bytemark.co.uk/ I spoke to these guys at internet world, they knew their stuff and are very flexible in terms of offering custom installations etc. They list a choice of operating systems on their site but will install any linux distribution however you want for a £50 charge.

Their virtual machines are such good value it defeats the poit of shared reseller hosting (if you know what you are doing of course)

I just moved to UK2, and they're fantastic :) Got good offers on at the moment too.

If you PM me, I'll give you the Sales Manager's address and you can contact him directly about your requirements.

Hosted in Redbus london.

I totally agree, we are also with UK2 and their network is very stable and their prices are brilliant - Any problems and you can get to Ditlev who is the main man and the problem is sorted.

Good luck :D

Of course it depends if your site is "mission critical". If its not so mission critical then If so use only rackspace uk. ITV, Channel4, Orange, Vodafone all use them... Of course you pay for the quality. For a managed dedicated server with fanatic support costs £400/month.

If not so mission crtitical go with a cheaper host (UK2 looks good from reading above).

Thanks Lynn, but we don't offer dedicated servers at the moment. Just Shared/Reseller hosting.

PM Phil @ openmind he does dedicated servers.
Cheers Carl. Allan, that looks like quite a monster you're feeding there! ;)

if you email/PM me with a full spec you need for the server as well as any other requirements such as server management etc, I would be happy to give you a quote...
