Hello guys,
I have been searching for a marketing internship for the last 6 months and I feel just exhausted (even desperate). I had a couple of interviews, but I was either too experienced or I didn't match companies' exact criterias. Probably, I have sent hundreds of CVs within this time without much success. I tried also to contact employers or recruitment agencies directly and still nothing. I have no idea what I am going wrong and where is the problem. :( I just need somebody to believe in my abilities and skills and give me a chance to prove myself.
I am well familiar with SMM and SEO and have good knowledge of copywriting. I have previous experience working as a marketing assistant in my home country and doing website content for UK cleaning companies. As I really want to enrich and evolve my skills, I decided to enrol in the university. My course is due to start in September 2015. However, I would like to make use of this time and do something useful. Doing a marketing internship will be invaluable experience for me, so if you have heard of something or know companies where I could apply, will be just wonderful!

Many, many thanks!
Diana

SMM, SEO, Copywriting are very different things. If you're just starting, you probably can't do any of those properly. Instead of being Jack of all trades, pick an area you like most. For example, if you're into SEO, make sure you subscribe to all popular online resources such as SearchEngineLand and follow industry news. Next, watch all of Whiteboard Friday videos on Moz and read as many articles by industry influencers. Then, instead of going for an unpaid internship just launch your own website about something you like doing and get it to rank on page 1.

To sum up, know your industry inside out and have something to show to your potential employer.
