Looking For A Free Eshop Any Ideas

great you have a domain name, and you need a site that will work with paypal AND allow you to use your own domain but how will people find your site? Where is the traffic coming from? PPC organic, offline advertising , online advertising etc. These are all really important as they impact on how to build your site.

So you are looking to get your traffic from Google nnatural listings is that right?

If this is the case, then I doubt vewry much if a free hosted solution will do you, you are going to need to get something like zen cart, or other free shopping cart software, and some hosting, plus then put the work in installing the SEO mods and the skin (free).

If you are hoping for natural google rankings then most free online stores will not cut the mustard if there is any competition.

Thanks for the response appreciated - what about internet retailer & others that are free theses no good?

Read this about feedback regarding internet retailer http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=144883

Hosted solutions like internet retailer are fine to try out. But if your business is going to be online only then I would not recommend this. The SEO is very limited and you will quickly have to redo all the setup work to move to another platform once you realise there limitations.

I would always recommend buying hosting choosing a shopping cart application, (one that is supported by the developers or by your web designers)

Lastly do not ever design your own website. As you might as well as throw your time away. here is an example of someone making there one website.

Hi,

Got a website address, got paypal too

If you want to build a small online shop with around 20 products and want to do it on a low cost budget with good SEO, you could do the following:

1) Get a free or low cost website template design that gives your website the look you are after.

2) Populate your website with lots of well written descriptive content for each of the products, good product images and use web page addresses that give URL's that are descriptive for each specific product (e.g. http://www.yoursite.com/ipod-docking-station.html), also set up the keywords meta tags on each page to give specific words that define and sum up each specific product. All of these things help give search engines a clear definition of why each of your pages is worth ranking against someone searching for content that matches what each of your pages is about.

3) Quickly and at a low cost turn your static website template site in to an online shop using Shop Integrator ecommerce plugins. These store widgets give you a professional looking online store without having to install or maintain any software. It allows you to have your customers create their order and pay you in to your PayPal account using their debit/credit card etc.

Will that integrator plugin thing work with wordpress?
Yes, the ecommerce plugins will work with any web technologies.

However, it is especially easy to integrate with WordPress as we have a dedicated WordPress ecommerce plugin to allow store features to be added to a WordPress site using the WordPress Dashboard meaning there is no copy and paste of ecommerce script into HTML.

  • Drag and drop store widgets in to your sidebar
  • WordPress Dashboard Posts and Pages Visual editors gain a new ecommerce button for easy point and click selection and insertion of the full range of Shop Integrator ecommerce plugins
