I am looking for some advice regarding designing a logo for my new business.
I have seen online services such as fiver but all of the people offering work seem to be based in Pakistan and other countries abroad.
Does anyone on this forum have any experience of using an online service such as fiver or any other recommendations that wont cost an arm and a leg.
Thanks for any advice

I think you have to accept that designing a logo isn't something that takes 5 minutes. The last time I paid for a logo it cost about £70.
The designer came up with 3 ideas, I picked one and we tweaked it a few times until I was happy with the result. The whole process took about 6 or 7 emails over the course of a day. I think £70 was fair enough?

If you want to spend less just open up your image editor of choice and create a text logo based on a font. It costs nothing but your time and the result will probably be good enough for your needs.

Thanks Darren.
Likewise I think that's a fair price. I want something unique to me not just tweaked clip art which looking at some of the fiverr ones they all seem similar

You can find some decent folk on freelancing sites like upwork and such, just look for the highest rated and they either have a direct website address or a very strong clue to where you'd be able to contact direct.

Hi there. I use fiver quite frequently and it is safe and although the people on there are from foreign countries, they are trained in the job they are on there for and they do get the work done. I have never had an issue with it and it is extremely cheap. If you are looking for a very basic logo, however, then try to do it yourself.

Thanks Lillie, Definintely not a simple logo or one I could do myself, again I'd sooner pay and have it done properly. Do you mind me asking which service you normally select as there are 3 pricing options and do you have any preferred users?

Hi Prosperity,

I have created a few logo's for some companies as some didn't have any when creating their websites. I have worked on freelance platforms and to tell you the truth a lot of the designers will just use a templated logo with your business name, I saw it happen all the time so you need to be careful if you choose to go down this route.

If you need advice or help, pop me a message. Hope i helped somewhat!

Many Thanks,

Ashley

Why not experimenting with doing your own logo? If you're not fully satisfied with it, then it can serve as a draft or example when you contact a professional. Regarding freelancing sites, in many cases you will get a good quality logotype that will serve its purpose well.

Best of luck!

You may want to change your signature. The Facebook page link doesn't work or exist. Cheers

You can check Behance or Freelancer. There are a lot of graphic and logo designers with their portfolio and approximate or exact rate. On freelancer you can put your bid and others will respond you in an approximate range of the price that is close or exact that you want to pay.

Lol - the first thing I noticed was I had to enable flash on their home page - what is this 1999? Then I looked at their 'portfolio' and the logos looked like they acquired AAA Logo maker ( a popular $49 tool in 2001, it still exists ) and use the defaults, drop shadows, swirls and all.

Logos are much overated, and most logos don't actually fare well on mobile sites either, if you can't afford to or don't want to pay a proper designer £250 or more, then just use text in a font and colour you like.

    logo it cost about £70.

£70 buys you about 1 to 2 hours of a UK designer.
By the time the designer has come to your office, and listened to your objectives and sketched a couple of drafts by hand that is time up. It then needs to be digitised and finalised. Last time I went through a proper process with a local designer it was closer to £150.
