Logo critique for expanding business

I was hoping for some logo critique,

We are a courier company and are expanding and thought it about time to get a website and a Logo.

Thanks.

As you can see we are looking at separating the different divisions.

So need a Logo to which can be Adjusted but keeping the core idea.

We like #4 and #8 just not sure about the figure in Medicol Cross

I like the first series but I am not keen on having the arrow curling round, especially if you want the logo to have more than one use.

I would take away the arrow and replace it with left to right arrows to denote motion, something like ">>>>>>>>>>" as replacement for the line leading into the words "medical courier".

Difficult to explain without drawing the whole thing to demonstrate

The Idea is

Red for Medicol
Green for Vetcol
Blue for Labcol

The reason is to keep the medical side seperate from the veterinary side.

We have contracts with a few private Dr's and hospitals. Running via Medicol. And we are going to be moving our Veterinary collections over to Vetcol.

Labcol may never be used but its there just in case as it falls in with both of the businesses.

You should display them at the actual size you'll be using them (website and printed). Logos can look great at 400%, but when you scale them down to actual size, much of the detail can be lost, as elements become less clear.

I wouldn't make any decision until you see more realistic sizes.

Just so you know:

"The Red Cross and Red Crescent emblems are protected symbols under international and national laws. Use of these emblems by an unauthorised person is strictly forbidden."

Section 6, para 2

That throws a big spanner in the works. I'm going to have to check if it only applies to a full red +.

I really dont fancy getting lifted for passing off as the Red cross.

I know this may sound strange but. Do they look too american to any of you guys??

Or am I confusing it with looking corporate

If they looked "american" I would have said they look "crap" instead :D

Corporate looking is not a bad thing at all. You can look a bit fly-by-night if you make it TOO trendy. Don't forget most of the medical trade is a bit on the fuddy duddy side

I really dont have an artistic bone. I can see it in other peoples Logo's but I'm too close to home on this one.:D

What I did with your images is to shrink them down to a size approximately what would fit on a business card and drew back from the screen to see which design still maintained it's resolution. Most were far too "busy" to survive that, but the last one fared the best in that test.

Design has to "speak" to you, so you know when something is instinctively 'right' and the message that came to me in the final set was 'classy'.

1 and 4..leaning towards 4 on a second look.

I like the test tube symbol on 4 but I would change the font to something more bold and simple. The RGB colors look good.

Courier companies like Italic fonts...denotes speed!

Looks like we may not be able to use #4 because of the red cross for medicol (still looking into it though) And the latest "button" designs are getting the best reaction.

@Eagle is that a bad thing though??

Thanks

I have emailed the british red cross and the American red cross. The American red cross have an email for brand ID.

I have done more of my own research and it looks like they only have a trademarkon a "red cross with arms of equal length on a white background."

Now as my Logo is an incomplete cross I'm hopefull that it will be ok.

Its still between #2 #4 or the "buttons"
