Logistics Company needing more customers

Hi All,

I started a Logistics company approx 8 months ago after being in a Logistics Manager role. I now find myself needing some more customers and was hoping for some advice to bring in more business.

Some of our services include:
• Worldwide air/sea freight
• European road freight
• Courier services
• Clearance services
• Shipping Documentation

I have done the usual asking friends/family and anyone else I can think of. Tapped into previous connections built up over the years and exhausted LinkedIn... not sure why people accept connection invitations but then will never message/call back when being contacted.

I have also tried a lead generation website where I have had some luck, but definitely not worth it. I am thinking about joining a logistics network which is approx €2,000 and you provide other freight companies net/net rates and then profit share.

Before I look further down that road, I thought I would tap into the network here to seek advice.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Scott,

Firstly, good for you for going it alone and doing your own thing.

It's tough for any new business to find customers, so you're not alone.

What might help you at this moment is to ask yourself the following questions:

1. Who EXACTLY am I looking to do business with?

2. What is the benefit of my services for that person (Notice I said person, not company)

3. Where do those people meet, hang out and on which platforms?

When you have clear answers to those questions, you can pu t a client acquisition process in place and get started.

If you sell to companies, you'll be looking to spend more time on Linkedin., connecting, networking and sharing expertise on groups, moving the conversation to DM and phone when the prospect is ready.

If you're selling to private individuals, Facebook or Instagram have amazing ad platforms that are cheap and easy to target.

When you get clear about who you are selling to and where they hang out, you can start to implement and test various things to bring them into your business.

Let me know how you get on, Scott.

To your success,

Bob Buckley

PS - If you want to go deeper into this, DM me to arrange a Skype and I'll walk you through exactly what you need to do going forward.

I would recommend using adwords for logistic businesses. Direct marketing opportunities are the key as businesses are looking for your service straight away. However, make sure you spend the money on improving your website and making sure that you know who your customer is first before you start spending any money on marketing.
