We have just started using tawk.to, which is free and has a WordPress plugin, which we use on our WordPress demo site - http://wordpress.nuttyabouthosting.co.uk/ and also the other connectivity you would expect, api etc. Been good so far.

Used Zopim for the last couple of years. Perfect for us and dead easy to install.

Been using https://www.phplivesupport.com/ for 10+ years and is frequently updated, stable and no silly pay per operator (requires hosting).

you can try livezilla, zopim, if you want some free chat software tawt.to is good one.

I had Zopim for a time as well, and was very happy with it.

However, from the other side of the coin, are you certain you are going to have someone there for the majority of the day - every working day - for "live chats"? The number of times I have been to sites that offer live chat, but there is never an "operator" online to help, makes the whole thing pointless.

Never offer something you won't be able to keep up with.

I use livechatinc, I think it works very well. I couldn´t be without a live chat service anymore. its essential to our business now.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations/comments. Just a consideration at the moment but yes there would be staff available to man this if introduced. At least I have enough to go on for the time being

We've used ISL Pronto in the past, good for providing product support as it comes with remote desktop and file transfer features.

You can always get some services for live chatting as well. They even have employees ready for that so you don't do the heavy lifting.
