Liquidator behaviour is this normal?

Hello and happy Good Friday..

I am going through a liquidation. I never thought this would happen and I am ashamed.

The company I am using was a recommendation via my accountant. He suggested one company that I couldn't afford but they were kind and recommended this one. The MD of this company was kind to me, he said he would give me time (I have been through two bereavements - my parents died within 3 weeks of each other, so I am a mess - and their illnesses resulted in me focusing on them and not the company and the company didnt recover after covid - I don't regret looking after them) and I am very, very anxious.

I don't owe any suppliers anything but I have a DLA sitting around 30k from covid and HMRC at 19k that I was paying off monthly alongside the BBL. In Jan 2024 I realised it was unsustainable and got a full time Fixed term contract as full time employment which ended in November. I have no money. I am single and am now selling my home. I have been 100% transparent with the liquidators and the MD about settling everything once the house is sold and even sharing the listing and viewings with them, but his 'person' has taken to emailing or calling me on a Friday when I can't solve anything. I have asked them not to do this on a friday. I have been unwell (was in hospital yesterday) and was just off to bed and opened my ipad to see a formal email sent at 9.30pm on Good Friday saying they now need answers. I am now wide awake and very distressed. I havent replied to her but my answer is I have nothing to offer them until the house is sold. I am looking for full time employment every day and on job seekers and it is killing me. I feel bullied by people I have paid money to - do I need to find money for a lawyer? Is this normal behaviour by a liquidator - I answer every email by return and answer every call.

Please advise if you can? I am feeling bullied and so very anxious.

Thank you

Limited company?

Who advised you to sell the House?

We don't know much about other circumstances, but are you claiing all the benefits you might be entitled to?

You may be liable for tax on the DLA but the other debts are the companies, not yours, barring any illegal activity.

Someone's who knows far more about this will be almond shortly.

Hello - Thank you for reading - yes my 10 year old Ltd company. House sale is inevitable as the interest rates I am on went up too high for me to manage and it comes to an end in october this year as well. I paid tax on DLA historically

Can you confirm the house sale is independent to the liquidation.

Yep and a good excuse to eat loads of chocolate - back to the issue in hand . Sorry to hear of the situation you find yourself in my only probably not useful comment is have you had a good chat with your mortgage provider to explore all the options in the hope to keep the house

no I haven't - but my kind mortgage advisor says they wouldn't extend as I am now unemployed and a family member lent me money to pay for my parents care for 2 years during covid and I have to pay her back too..

The real exprts on IPs tend not to be around much at weekends/bank holidays. You may need to wait until Tuesday for a professional response to your post. However, the simple advice is not to look at your emails other than 9 to 5 Minday to Friday.

Is a formal complaint t the MD about inappropriate contact likely to be helpful?
Thank you - yes I sent him a send later (9am tuesday) email saying I felt it was so unkind and unhelpful to do that - and if in my corporate role I sent emails like that i would be in front of HR (didnt say that bit) I am not in a great space - just me and the dog over the weekend but I went to a friend this morning for a shoulder.

A dog can be such wonderful company in a crisis, but a friend with a shoulder is better.
