Can someone please advise how best to get a company logo to actually fit the allowed border linked in?

I have added a standard and square company image both of which have been automatically re-sized to fit.

The square image is fine but the slightly larger one is onlly filling a small proportion of the allowed space even through the image I've used is a large vetor file. I have a JPEG file also which is doing the same thing.

How can I combat this?

Make the image 500x500 pixels for the logo and the banner 650x220... that should be fine. If the images show as poor resolution double the sizes above e.g. 500x500 1000x1000 2000x2000 etc...
