Greetings,

I'm experiencing a problem after I've linked a domain to the host, basically it went like this:

1. I have a domain with names.co.uk and it is linked to the host siteground.co.uk (couldn't transfer it since domain wasn't 60 days old)
2. Through cpanel on siteground I've installed wordpress
3. While I'm not using the wifi at home, I get the wordpress landing page when I access the website
4. However when I'm using the wifi at home I get the names.co.uk landing page when I access the website

Now, while I'm at home and using the wifi connection, the only way I can actually access the website without having the names.co.uk landing page is via proxy.

I've tried to clear dns, cache etc. but nothing seems to be working. I've also contacted the support but their advice was... useless. It's clear that the problem is my isp.

Did anyone experience something similar and managed to fix it?

ps. isp is talk talk

You need to look into domain propagation, it works by rolling out across the world so it's probably not fully resolved across the world and so you are seeing different variations, you just need to be patient.

Google whats my dns and use the first website to check your domain has propagated worldwide, if it has then I will help you look at what else might be causing the problem, but it's nothing major and nothing to worry about.

When you link a domain to your host, you change its DNS (Domain Name System) settings. It can take up to 72 hours for all the computers across Internet are updated with the new information.

You ISP certainly affects the DNS propagation but it is not necessary a problem – it just caches DNS records i.e. stores the data locally for a certain period of time, sometimes up to 72 hours, before querying for fresh data.
