Limited Company Problem

Hello everyone,

Just wondering if someone can help or shed any light on a problem I have.

I want to register a new limited company for a consultancy that I have recently set up.

Tried to register the company this morning but my chosen business name is unavailable - Few different sites have told me this.

However, I headed over to companies house webcheck and when I have searched the company name it's not listed. I can add (UK) to it and it get it if I want, but I don't really want to do that.

Can anyone explain why the name wouldn't be available but yet it is not listed with Companies House ?

Nope but there are certain words that are not permissible / restricted, maybe you have stumbled onto one.
Either way you're going to have to pick something else or add the (UK)

Very annoying I must admit.

I added the word 'Limited' so it read ***** *** ******* Limited Ltd and that was available. Remove the Limited and its not.

Is there no way around it ? nothing I can do ?

Just been on rapid formations website and they explained when I typed it in.

My name has the word 'For' in it and there is a company with the exact same name but they use '4'

Looks like I will have to go with adding the (UK)

Seems like a case of too similar. Remember you don't necessarily need to trade with the full name - you could drop the UK again for your trading name.

Just want to say, well done to Companies House programmers if they're filtering on synonyms. But I guess, it's in their best interest to do so. They must get a tsunami of cheeky requests every day.
